Choosing to live in the NEW Moment

This season, my husband has become an avid fan of 'America's Got Talent'. As the selection process has proceeded, I have become exceedingly saddened by those who don't make the cut dissolving into tears and believing that 'this' moment is their only chance for success in their talent and lives. One young man was devastated and declared that "he would have to go back to living on the streets". This line of thinking keeps me pumped to spread the truth - Every moment of your life is a new moment to move forward and leave the past behind!

The contestant are so grounded in the present moment that they completely lose sight of the fact that 48 act are moving forward but there will be only 1 winner. They had a 1 in 48 chance of winning at the point that they were cut. NOW is the time to look forward and carry only the blessings of the past forward. What are the blessings? They made it to Las Vegas (the grand prize is a show deal in Vegas); their talent has been seen worldwide; they now have name and sight recognition; they have honed their talent to an entirely different level to remain in the competition thus far.

Their new vision should be to remain in Las Vegas; update their publicity packets; audition as first level acts in Vegas and continue to pursue their dreams. Being cut may be a blessing in disguise (think Jennifer Hudson of American Idol who would have missed her golden opportunity to appear in the movie 'Dream Girls' if she had won). The lesson for all of us is to never give up on our dreams and to remember that there is blessing in every action because God is in control.

It is no coincidence that my husband watched this show this year. I needed the reaffirmation of living in the NEW moment.

Love and light to you all!
